Sara was born on a snowy morning in Kabul in 2018. Within hours the doctors found her heart was not pumping right — a congenital defect they said would need a specialist abroad. For seven years her family watched her grow up smart, gentle, and tired more easily than her brothers. Last month a visiting cardiologist from India told us Sara has about a year before the defect becomes critical. Surgery at Apollo Hospital in Delhi costs $8,500. We have $4,100 saved from family and her father's shop. We need to raise the rest — and we need to do it fast. Every donor pays it forward to a child like the ones you grew up with. We will post photos and updates from each step, and a receipt for every afghani spent. With deep gratitude — the Ahmadi family, Kabul.

Visa approved! Apollo Hospital booked for July 22

We just got the call from the Indian consulate. Sara's medical visa is approved. We've booked the surgery slot at Apollo for July 22. Just over $3,500 to go for accommodation and the recovery period. Thank you all so much — every donation has put us one step closer.
